    Where
Most of our lessons are held at Rivermouth beach - where the Margaret River hits the ocean. This is the best spot to teach beginners - on the inner beach break. Either meet at the Rivermouth Car Park (For map click here) or ask about our free pick up when you book.

More advanced surfers can be taken to any of the more advanced breaks along the coast - it all depends on what you are up for! Just let us know when you book.

    Equipment

We supply all the equipment you need to go surfing - wetsuits and surfboards. We have wetsuits from kids size 2 to adults XXL, so you're bound to find something that you can squeeze into even if you don't look like Kelly Slater. And if you're any bigger than that, you probably won't get cold in the water anyway!

We use the latest in softboard technology - foam and rubber surfboards that provide great flotation and manouverability, but don't knock you or the poor soul next to you out when they hit you on the head. Really user-friendly!

Again, there is the option for advanced users to use fibreglass boards - just tell us what you have in mind when you book.

Just don't forget to bring your towel, bathers & sunburn cream.

    Course Includes
All our Learn to Surf Courses include:

    • Level 1 Surf Certificate
    • Surf Safety & Awareness
    • Beach Safety
    • Ocean Knowledge
    • Surf Etiquette
    • Sunsmart Behaviour
    • Sportsafe Behaviour

Before we go into the water we have a chat on the beach about the safety aspects of surfing, and go through the paces of getting up on your board. Then it's into the water to give it a go. The coach will help you balance your board until you get the hang of it, and then you're off!

    Coaches
Safety is obviously really important to us - otherwise we wouldn't be able to do this! All our coaches have completed coaching courses and been accredited by the Australian Surfing Association (ASA). And every year, each coach has to refresh their Bronze Medallion swimming qualification.

But safety isn't the only thing we worry about - we also want you to have the best time of your life when you come to us! And to make that happen, we only take on coaches that are in love with life and having a laugh. As well as being champion surfers, they have to be all round champion guys and girls! I think you'll understand what we mean when you meet them!

    Safety
Your safety is out top priority - in fact, it's about the only thing in life we take seriously! If you're not safe then you're not having fun and we won't be having a business!

As well as being fully trained as surf coaches and accredited by the Australian Surfing Association (ASA), all of our coaches refresh their Bronze Medallion swimming qualifications annually, and we hold a Senior First Aid Certificate. We maintain a St John's Ambulance First Aid Kit, which is on the beach during all surf lessons, and our coaches do know how to use it!

We have chosen the best and safest spot to hold our Learn to Surf lessons at the Rivermouth, and have been licenced by the Augusta - Margaret River Shire to work there since 1995. We are licensed to operate with a ratio of 12 surfers to one coach, but we limit our numbers to 8 surfers to each coach. That way, we can keep you safe and give you more individual attention too.

We are a member of the Surf Schools Association of Australia (SSAA), and we hold public liability insurance for $20 million.

And because of our pledge to put your safety first, there will be days when the lessons are cancelled - if it's too rough out there for us to be completely confident that we can keep you safe and let you enjoy yourself, we'll put it off until another day.
