Kids as young as 6 can join a lesson (with parental supervision), and we regularly have three-generation families — grandparents, parents, and kids — all learning together. We Make It Safe for Kids
Safety is the foundation of everything we do. Our lead instructor Simon Tien is not only a big-wave surfer but also a registered paramedic — meaning you're in genuinely expert hands. All coaches hold First Aid qualifications and surf rescue certifications. We always choose a beach appropriate for the conditions and the group's ability.
What's Included
When you book a family lesson with us, everything is provided:
Soft surfboards (safer and easier for kids to learn on)
Wetsuits in all sizes, including kids' sizes
Full safety briefing and ocean awareness training
Two full hours in the water with a coach
All you need to bring is swimmers, zinc, and a sense of adventure.
Group Lessons vs. Private Family Lessons
For families wanting more personalised attention, we recommend a private group lesson. At $65 per child and $90 per adult (minimum two people), it's excellent value compared to individual activities in the region — and the memories last a lifetime. If you'd prefer a fully customised experience, our individual 1-on-1 lessons are also available.
